There's this lovely contest called the Young Translator's Award judged in Oxford annually, open to traslators under 25, that my professor introduced me to senior year of college.  I wasn't able to participate last year and at college my entry was so rushed I was ashamed to ask for feedback.  This year I have a first draft and it's more than a month until it's due.

I'm also participating in an online workshop on translating Vysotsky's songs.  (one of a group of Russian folk musicians known as bards, more of a phenomenon than pretty much anyone in America according to Wikipedia; here's the song I'm working on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-JQactox28)

Finally, I may try to translate one of Marina Tsvetaeva's poems for a contest in June.

In the meantime I am still trying to translate vast amounts of Derzhavin, although I have traced the existence of a magnificent although curiously unavailable set of translations by Alexander Levitsky, head of the Russian department at Brown.

Summary: there is a lot on my plate and it's going well.
